Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke will play for the Norwegian esports organization Heroic at the BLAST Premier World Final 2022 as a substitute. He will replace Martin “stavn” Lund.
The ex-Astralis player was forced to leave the competitive scene after a scandal during the ESL Pro League Season 16 in Malta.
At that tournament (what a coincidence!) Astralis lost to Heroic while k0nfig and the team went to a nightclub to relax. At the club, k0nfig grappled with an employee and got into a fight. According to k0nfig, the nightclub employee broke his leg.
After the debacle, the Danish organization broke the contract with the athlete. The official statement highlights that it was “by mutual agreement”. Since October, k0nfig has been without a team.
BLAST Premier World Final 2022 will take place in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) at the Etihad Arena on December 14-18. The $1 million prize pool will be up for grabs by 8 teams: Natus Vincere, Heroic, FaZe Clan, Outsiders, Team Vitality, G2 Esports, OG and Team Liquid.
