Natus Vincere coach Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy has announced that NAVI’s newbie Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev will play with the team at least until the end of IEM Rio Major in November.
“With sdy we took first place at BLAST and second place in Cologne. It was a good result, so we decided to continue with him as a stand-in to give him a chance to prove himself even more. He still has a lot of mistakes and is not very comfortable in the game. The point is to let him open up more and find a comfort zone. Let’s see how he performs in future tournaments. So far, the plan is to play with Vitya [sdy] until the end of the Major [IEM Rio 2022]. And then we will decide what we will do next,” B1ad3 said on NAVI’s Youtube channel.
B1ad3 noted that sdi has problems adapting to the team and sometimes makes mistakes while playing. However, the coach sees his desire and motivation to do better. Therefore, NAVI continues to work with sdi expecting a stable game from him in the future.
“The main problem is the reaction to specific events. He [sdi] reacts differently in actions and speed. Whether he can adapt is up to him. Everything is based on how it will work. He has a desire, motivation and he tries very hard. He sometimes has situations in the game where he does everything very well. If they reach a more stable level, then everything will be fine. We need stability,â B1ad3 stated.
25-year-old sdy joined NAVI as a stand-in after the club kicked their in-game leader Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov.
With sdy, NAVI won BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 in Lisbon and took second place at the IEM Cologne 2022, losing in the fiercest seven-hour final battle to FaZe.
NAVI star Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev spoke well about sdy’s playing qualities but so far he has not been signed to the team.
