Ahead of his match, we had the opportunity to speak to Polish Legend Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski at IEM Dallas. Snax is currently standing in as Spinx has visa issues.
Q: How does it feel to be back at the top tier where you belong?
A: Good. It feels good. The barbecues are so awesome.
Q: When did you get the call that Ence needed a player?
A: It was around one month ago. Spinx called me, ‘Hello, I have a problem with Visa so you will come?’ And I said sure just call me.
Q: How long did it take to start practicing with the guys and get integrated with the system?
A: We were practicing today and also, Spinx showed me some things and also our coach, he’s a good guy. He showed me the way how to play and it’s great
Q: You kind of disappeared off the tier one scene. How’s it feel to be back?
A: Surely I never disappeared. I was just like, eating too much. I wanted to eat more than play. So now is the time I want to play more than eat. From my perspective, it’s easier to play in tier one than in tier two or tier three. I mean, people are not doing that crazy stuff and playing wisely in lower tiers. Tier-one plays more intelligently in the game. That’s what I like to play versus, and from my perspective, I like playing on LAN. Online is hard for me to play. I cannot focus online. But, I am focusing on the LAN, even so, if it is on LAN, I’m a beast.
Q: Snappi, so how’s it been with a stand-in?
A: It’s been great. With Snax, the atmosphere in the team is good as it was before maybe even better now because we are just having fun on the server. Because before the tournament, we didn’t have any pressure because we knew we’re gonna play with stand-ins. So we just played and had fun and we just worked out. So we were just having fun.
Hopefully, with Snax proving he still has what it takes to compete, he will get another shot to play in the tier-one scene once again.
