The traditional pattern for the Intel Grand Slam has been disrupted due to recent results.G2 triumphed in two out of seven eligible events, MOUZ claimed victory in two out of five, FaZe emerged victorious in two out of three, and Spirit secured a win in a single event. This unique combination creates a 'V' shape in the official Intel Grand Slam graphic, signaling a departure from the expected pattern.
Vitality is the newest team to win IEM Cologne, an ESL Pro Tour Championship tournament. Winning one of these championships and four tournaments in a 10-tournament window is needed to claim the $1 million prize.
With Vitality joining the competition, the existing teams are edging closer to the risk of losing their eligibility under the 10-tournament rule. G2 secured an EPT Championship victory at last year's IEM Cologne, but they will need to win consecutive championships at ESL Pro League and IEM Rioto meet the challenge.
MOUZ currently has more opportunities than G2, but they have not secured an EPT Championship yet. Similarly, FaZe has more chances than MOUZ and has also not clinched an EPT Championship. On the other hand, Spirit has only one title to their name, which is an EPT Championship won earlier this year at IEM Katowice, and they still have five opportunities to compete for additional titles.

The next two events that count in a race are:
- ESL Pro League Season 20 will be held from September 3 to September 22
- IEM Rio 2024 will be held from October 7 to October 13
