Who is Donk?

The donk's real name is Danil Kryshkovets. He was born on January 25, 2007 in Tomsk, Russia. Almost nothing is known about his childhood - the young man closed his VK account with privacy settings.

His love for eSports was instilled by his elder brother, who played CS for the first time at 5. Thanks to this coincidence, the future star of Spirits has an account on Steam.

According to Danil, parents calmly accepted their son's hobby of sitting at home playing computer. The boy got good grades at school, and then the hobby began to bring in the first money. Initially, Kryshkovets started his way with tournaments in his native Tomsk. In one of the photos, the 12-year-old poses with his first award—a certificate for a haircut.

The Start of donk's Career

Alexey OverDrive Biryukov played an essential role in Danil's biography. He saw a demo of the young gamer's game and offered him a place at the Spirit Academy. Since July 2021, Kryshkovets has been representing this team at competitions.

He didn't start playing there right away - more often, he watched and substituted for his teammates when needed. He finished the second half of 2021 with an average rating of 0.99 (1 is an average value; it allows you to understand whether an athlete is above or below average).

Later, the Spirit Academy stack changed and reassembled several times, and donk got his chance. He steadily performed better and better at tournaments. Eventually, he was invited to the FPL — FaceIt Pro League, where he became one of the youngest players ever.

Before him, only one other player has made it to the FPL at a similar age - NAVI Junior prodigy Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, who now plays for G2 Esports.

Danil has participated in mixed online teams, including those with legionnaires. He won two online tournaments at Team Spirit Academy, earning about $10,000 in prize money. Considering the level, that's okay for a year and a half of playing.

In 2023, he was rumored to be recruited by Vitality, one of Europe's biggest eSports franchises. But donk stayed with Spirit and earned a promotion to the main roster, along with two other academy players, zont1x and ArtFr0st.

Tournaments With Team Spirit

Since joining the central team, donk and Team Spirit have won seven tournaments and reached the finals four times.

Donk's tournament wins:

  • CCT West Europe Series #1;
  • CCT North Europe Series #6;
  • Dunav Party LAN;
  • Thunderpick World Championship 2023: European Series #2;
  • BetBoom Dacha;
  • IEM Katowice 2024;
  • BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024.

But the most crucial win was at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024. In Katowice, Poland, the guy was recognized as the most valuable player, showing the best rating among all MVPs in the tournament's history—1.7.

On February 11, Team Spirit defeated FaZe Clan 3:0 in the finals. The team consisted of Danil Kryshkovets, Leonid Vishnyakov, Dmitry Sokolov, Boris Vorobiev, and Miroslav Plakhotya. As a result of the competition, the guys shared $400 thousand in prize money.

In Katowice, the Team Spirit members faced pressure from the stands - Polish fans periodically booed them. In an interview after the triumph, Kryshkovets talked about his goal to win the major and thanked the fans for their support on the Internet.

At their first major, Team Spirit made it to the playoff stage with a score of 3:0 (3 wins). Still, in the final part of the tournament, despite many people considering Team Spirit to be the leading contender for the trophy, they lost in the first game to FaZe Clan, which at that time was ranked first in the HLTV rating.

In the last game, Danil became the only player on the team who was in the "plus" statistic, and he finished the tournament with a rating of 1.35 and became the best player on the team.
