Dota 2 is one of the most diverse games in terms of hero combinations and options. With 126 heroes at your disposal, there are endless combinations you can come up with. Some will work great in specific metas, but specific Dota 2 hero combos will trigger your opponents in every patch.

Many of us at Blix.gg have been playing Dota 2 for many years and decided to share our experiences. What you are about to see is a list of combos that can easily trigger anyone who wants to have fun while playing. Aside from making your opponent’s life a living hell, these combos are also fun to play and can win your games fast, especially in lower MMR.

    Contents

    • 1 Necrophos and Venomancer
    • 2 Undying and Treant Protector
    • 3 Storm Spirit and Spirit Breaker
    • 4 IO and Tiny
    • 5 Mirana and Bane
    • 6 Lich and Underlord
    • 7 Invoker and Legion Commander
    • 8 Conclusion

    Necrophos and Venomancer

    via ArtStation

Anyone who has been playing Dota 2 long enough knows that Venomancer and Necrophos are among the most annoying heroes in the game. That’s why it is no surprise that the two together in a lane means only one thing – trouble.

Although Venomancer can be played as a core, in most cases, he can do well as a position 4. This allows Necrophos to focus on farming and pressure the enemy’s safe lane or offlane (depending on their position).

The reason why this combo works really well is because of the constant DoT, healing, and slows. Venomancer can be extremely annoying with his slows and constant damage, whereas Necrophos’s Aura and Death Pulse allow him to be consistent on the lane and harass his opponents. Together, they can make the life of any core or support a living hell.

    Undying and Treant Protector

Although this Dota 2 hero combo seems weird at first, once you give it a try, you’ll realize it is very annoying. Generally speaking, almost all aggressive heroes paired with Undying can do incredibly well, especially early on. This hero can single-handedly shut down any safelane, especially if the heroes are squishy.

Treant Protector and Undying work well because both heroes are hard to bring down. On top of that, Treant can deal an insane amount of damage early on, which is great for bullying anyone out of the lane.

Once Treant reaches level 6, he and Undying can easily kill anyone on the lane and even rotate to secure a teamfight. The combo is easy to execute, regardless of the skill level, so you can often find them on different Dota 2 hero tier lists.

    Storm Spirit and Spirit Breaker

Spirit Breaker is often called the “king of pubs”, and for a good reason. The hero is extremely strong in lower-level pub games and can easily carry his team to victory. That’s why it is unsurprising that he can do very well when paired with mobile heroes like Storm Spirit.

Once Storm hits level 6, these two heroes can kill pretty much any hero on the map. As long as there is a synergy between them, the Storm and SB combo will trigger any hero, especially if that person is constantly out of position.

Keep in mind that Spirit Breaker can be combined with pretty much any aggressive mid-laner. Heroes like Ember Spirit and even Templar Assassin can also do well, but it all depends on the specific opponents.

    IO and Tiny

Some Dota 2 combos are as old as the game itself, and IO and Tiny are one of those options. People have been using these two heroes for years, and it seems like they are present in any meta. Although it is hard to execute, people who know how to use the combo can trigger any opponent on the map.

One of the reasons the combo is so annoying is that it involves global ganks and IO’s ability to save Tiny from danger when needed. On top of that, having an overcharged Tiny means that the latter hits as hard as a truck.

The only real problem with Tiny and IO is that the combo is not that easy to use. You don’t often see it in PUBs, but it is common among professionals.

    Mirana and Bane

Speaking of Dota 2 hero combos that will trigger your opponents, Mirana and Bane are another option to consider. Although the combo is not as popular as before, it continues to be a solid option when you want to land easy kills early on.

The reason why this combo is worth it is because of the Nightmare and Arrow combination. Landing a free 5-second stun, followed by another long disable, usually results in an easy kill.

The only real issue with this combo is that it is not that effective later on. Sure, you can always use the two heroes’ abilities and try to land a kill, but it is much harder when every mistake can mean losing a teamfight.

    Lich and Underlord

    via Esports Tales

Lich is one of those Dota 2 supports that you can combine with a lot of different heroes and achieve good results. Following our many tests, it seems like Underlord is one of those names that works very well with Lich.

Due to their AoE abilities, these two heroes deal insane amounts of damage together. Pit of Malice allows Lich to use Chain of Frost and easily kill at least a few opponents.

The Underlord and Lich combo is also solid in the laning stage. Underlord is incredibly tanky, so when you add Lich’s armor, he becomes even harder to bring down. This allows the hero to play more aggressively.

    Invoker and Legion Commander

Invoker and LC are not your typical Dota 2 combo, but these two work surprisingly well together. The reason why they are so strong is because of Duel and Sun Strike. These two abilities alone ensure that LC will snowball fast and Invoker will get easy kills.

But that’s not the only reason why the two heroes are good together. Aside from Invoker’s SS, his other abilities can also be excellent when used along with LC’s duel. The Meteor and Blast will give additional damage and will disarm LC’s opponent, ensuring that the latter will get the duel.

Of course, we must also address Alacity and Legion’s insane damage output. Once the hero gets his Duel Damage, he can easily be the hardest-hitting core in the game. With Alacrity, LC can push incredibly fast and destroy any tower in seconds.

    Conclusion

There are many other Dota 2 combos that you can use to annoy your enemies, especially if you are playing with friends. There are entire lineups that can have this effect, such as those that focus on pushing. With that said, you should always consider the situation and pick the heroes that will do best in it.
