Russian-Armenian esports organization Virtus.pro have signed Sergei “G” Bragin as the head coach of their Dota 2 team. G has replaced former head coach Timur “Ahilles” Kulmuhambetov in the role, with the latter being transitioned into an analyst role within the organization.
G is a storied name within the Eastern European scene, having started his career in 2010 in the original Defense of the Ancients mod. During his eleven-year-long playing career, G played for a number of top clubs including Moscow Five, Virtus.pro and Team Spirit.
After transitioning into a coaching role in mid-2022, assisting CIS Rejects, Pari Parni and One Move before finding himself on Virtus.pro.
One Move has become something of a talent pool for the Yerevan-based organization
office. Besides G, Alexander “StrangeR” Solomonov, Ivan “4SV” Karpov and Ahilles have all made their way to VP from One Move
“As I assumed earlier, the arrival of Fng has affected the team in more ways than one. In particular, Ahilles began to do more analytical work, which proved to be extremely useful. The team wasn’t happy with the result of the second tour, but positively assessed the dynamics of the work done. We discussed what was missing, identified points of growth and decided to strengthen our coaching staff in the off-season,” StrangeR said regarding the addition of G.
