Magic Squad lifted the Free Fire World Series trophy on Sunday, November 26th, in Bangkok, Thailand. The Brazilian team is the second from its region to achieve the feat of becoming the world champion after Corinthians claimed the title in Rio de Janeiro in 2019.

    Knockout and Points Rush

During this phase, the teams were divided into three groups and faced each other in turn for six days. At this stage, based on the scoring criteria over those six days, of the 18 teams present in the competition, 6 teams were eliminated: Hotshot Esports, MIBR, All Glory Gaming, Osaka, Furious Gaming and WASK.

The remaining 12 played 2 days of the Points Rush phase, two days in which the final score on the table defined the starting points for advancement in the grand finals.

    Grand Finals

The grand finals took place on Sunday, with six drops to be played. The team that remained most constant naturally was Magic Squad, achieving 3 Booyahs (victories). The teams who “threatened” the Brazilians’ victory were Buriram United Esports and CGGG, the first with several champions and two-time world title champions.

Thai Rattapong “DEW” Rompochai from EXP Esports was named the competition’s MVP. Magic Squad takes the FFWS trophy and $300,000 USD on the return trip to Brazil.
