Carlos “ocelote” RodrÃguez, the founder of G2 Esports, has resigned as CEO of the organization. G2 has accepted his resignation.
“As a global esports organization serving the world’s most diverse fan base, we take responsibility for our fans, employees, team members, and partners across the world. In this context, we want to underline that we do not support any form of misogyny. We continue to prioritize fostering inclusivity and supporting a diverse gaming community,” G2 Esports reported.
ocelote’s dismissal was the result of a protracted scandal in connection with the invitation of Andrew Tate to the G2 party. Tate, a former kickboxer, is known for his sexist and misogynist remarks.
In response to community criticism, G2’s CEO remarked that he was free to invite his friends.
Subsequently, the organization distanced itself from the statement of its top manager and he was deprived of his salary for eight weeks.
But this act failed to calm the scandal. There were also more serious consequences. According to insiders, this was the reason Riot Games refused to invite G2 to the Valorant franchise league.
