The atmosphere of the LEC Studio was electric on the first day of the League of Legends European Championship as fans were back in the studio, cheering and shouting for their favorite teams. We spoke with Vitalityâs bot laner Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság about their match against MAD Lions, the durability changes, and the effect of the fans.
Hey Carzzy, you’ve returned to the LEC studio; it is very exciting out there; fans are cheering, stomping. Unfortunately, you had your first loss today; how do you feel?
Carzzy: I feel fine; we just did some silly mistakes.
It happens. LEC is a marathon, not a sprint. Today we’ve seen some interesting stuff – new picks out there like Sejuani in the top lane. What else do you expect to see in this meta?
Carzzy: I mean, I think the meta has been solved a bit by LCK and LPL. I don’t think we are going to see something special that wasn’t played there.
What do you think about the durability change? Did it help professional players, in your opinion?
Carzzy: I don’t think it helped like it doesn’t matter that much. It’s changed the game a bit, not much, but I think it makes the game more fun because people don’t get one-tapped anymore, which is great.
It is great to hear people are enjoying these changes. Other than the game, how do you feel about the energy of the fans?
Carzzy: I’m happy that people are back in the studio; it definitely brings back greater motivation to play. It’s also just a nice feeling, having people cheer for us and all the other teams.
Yeah, definitely. The LEC fans are always hype since it is a very hype league with new additions such as Haru or Nisqy, who has returned. How do you feel about the new state of LEC?
Carzzy: I think LEC is always exciting, no matter what year it is. I think there is always a lot of people that make the league interesting, so I’m happy.
Yeah, me too. Finally, do you have any words or messages of encouragement to Vitality fans out there?
Carzzy: I’m very thankful you guys are supporting us, and I hope that we will play better so you guys can be proud.
Thank you so much for your time, and good luck in future matches!
Carzzy: Thank you.
