In the heart of California is the fastest growing league in all of esports. For long, the LCS has been an underdog at international competition, but it has picked up insane momentum as of recently. With more and more players coming across the seas for multi-million dollar deals, imported players have become more common than ever in North American teams, some even transitioning into a mostly non-NA lineup.
For simplicity, the ‘League of Legends Championship Series’ will be referred to as the ‘LCS.’

LCS QUICK FACTS
- The LCS is one of the most diverse leagues, having rosters consisting of people from 20 different countries!
- Team Liquid has four LCS titles, and they were all consecutive.
- There has only been one female player to compete in the LCS: Maria ‘Remilia’ Creviling with Renegades in Summer of 2015.
- The LCS also became the first (and remains the only) league to launch a Game Changers series, an exclusively women’s league.
