Yesterday, August 8, Brazilian player Pedro “PpWs” Sabino announced his retirement from the Rainbow Six Siege scene. The 20-year-old player debuted in the Brazilian tier one scene last year on INTZ ‘ before the organization sold their spot to TropiCaos in September 2022.
PpWs’ retirement comes as ex-TropiCaos have seemingly struggled to find a new home; despite the likes of E1 Sports and Vivo Keyd Stars reportedly being set to join the Brazilian league.
In his statement regarding his retirement, PpWs stated: “after this half year with everything that’s been going on, I’m completely disheartened about the future of the game. I left the project because I see little probability of finding an org in a week, [despite] all the orgs we talked [to].”
With this downbeat statement of his views on the Brazilian R6 scene, PpWs retirement is put in the context of an esports scene undergoing large changes in the past year.
With PpWs’ retirement, ex-TropiCaos currently consists of:
- Juliano “Levy” Andrade
- Caio “Neskin” Szazi
- Willian “Stk” da Costa
As previously reported, the trio is looking to Dyjair “Mity” Soares as one of the new players to join the project. BLIX knows the term to find an organization for the ex-TropiCaos project is August 15, with the team likely playing as an orgless squad should they be unable to find another organization by then. The other option is place would be for the squad to be replaced but this would only come if they were unable to assemble a stable five-man lineup.
Approached by BLIX, Ubisoft’s position stays clear: “Ubisoft Brasil is fully aware of the departure of three teams from the BLAST Rainbow Six Brazil League and is ready to proceed with the competition, following the guidelines set out in the championship’s rulebook. The spots will be filled by other teams, which will be revealed soon, and the next phase of the BLAST Rainbow Six Brazil League will take place normally, with its competitive integrity preserved.”
