According to sources close to BLIX.GG, Felix "Abbedagge" Braun will be Excel Esports' starting mid laner for the last week of the Spring Split’s regular phase, replacing Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié in the roster.

Abbedagge joined the English organization in the middle of the Winter Split, leaving 100 Thieves after more than a year and a half in the American organization. The German mid laner will being his journey as a starting mid laner this week, replacing Vetheo.

Additionally, Alejandro "anonimotum" Gomis is reporting that Kaas has reached a verbal agreement with Excel Esports to become their coach in the LEC.

Abbedagge has used his time in North America to win the first title of his career. The German came to the LCS by the hand of 100 Thieves for the 2021 Summer Split, a season in which the thieves won their only trophy to date. During 2022 100T has remained in the upper tier of the competition, but has fallen just short of their second win on both occasions finishing runner-up in both the spring and summer.

During his time on the British bench the club allowed the midfielder to receive and accept offers that interested him and he even had an offer from Astralis to replace Oliver "Dajor" Ryppa, an offer he turned down.

The German mid laner has proven to be one of the most solid players in his position both in his role at Schalke 04 and 100 Thieves and has also shared team with players of the current quintet such as Dino "LIMIT" Tot and Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu.

They were all a part of one of esports' best narratives — the tale of Schalke 04's miraculous run. A rollercoaster win run to conclude the season and a meager 4% probability of qualifying for the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) Summer Playoffs in 2020. The squad went on a seven-game winning streak against formidable opponents like G2 Esports, Fnatic, and Origen, turning what appeared to be an insurmountable challenge from the final few games of the Split into a stunning run.

On the other hand, we have not seen the best games from the French mid laner. Since his debut in the top European competition Vetheo has been a mid laner who has given a lot to talk about, a player who from day one showed his great mechanics with champions like Zoe, Akali or Sylas. Both this split and the previous one the meta has revolved much more around the control mages and the priority of mid to rotate to other lines and the synergy between the French player and his jungler Andrei "Xerxe'' Dragomir has been virtually nonexistent.

Expectations on Vetheo were very high after his stint at Misfits Gaming and 2022 LEC Spring Split’s MVP award. Berrié did not perform as well as expected during the spring phase after a disastrous split with a 1-8 result and finishing on 10th place in the regular phase.

Excel Esports is currently with 2-4 score in the LEC standings with the next week being crucial for the team's possible qualification to the playoffs round where everything will be decided between Team Heretics, Fnatic, Mad Lions and Excel Esports itself.
