According to multiple sources close to BLIX.GG, former Soniqs’ and BOBO’s player Chris ‘Pl1xx’ Li is set to join Weibo Gaming for the inaugural season of Chinese VALORANT Esport. Pl1xx will join the Chinese team alongside former ORDER player Elvin ‘Maple’ Sun. Maple and Pl1xx will be two of the first imports in Chinese VALORANT Esport.
Pl1xx started his esports career in CS:GO where he was considered a prodigy among his peers when VALORANT was announced the joined the infamous EXO CLAN roster which won First Strike Oceania. The roster was later signed and imported to North America by Susquehanna Soniqs although never saw the same success in NA as it did in Oceania. After a very tough period in North America, Pl1xx would eventually return to Oceania and join BOBO for VCL Oceania, the roster is currently 1st seeded in the league. Even though the team was successful, OCE just is not sustainable for aspiring talent and on February 8 the best OCE roster in VALORANT announced they would be splitting.
After the EXO CLAN members left for North America, a new roster became the dominant force in the region. ORDER, an Australian esports organization would soon start dominating the region and qualify for all international qualifiers. Even though the roster saw a lot of success, the organization didn’t. ORDER would cease operations in early September 2022. One of the top players on the roster was Elvin ‘Maple’ Sun who got a lot of teams’ attention after ORDER became disorder. Maple would play for the free-agent roster Honey Badgers in VCL Oceania. Honey Badgers are currently placed as the second-best team in the regular season.
Both players will be moving to Weibo Gaming which will compete in the upcoming inaugural season of Chinese VALORANT starting in the Summer of 2023 according to a report by Bloomberg. The organization may also compete at the upcoming Huya Fearless Cup, although sources say that tournament is more content creator based than team-based.
