G2 Esports has defeated Heroic at the Grand Final of the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023 with a score of 3:1.
G2 has won on Nuke (16:12), Mirage (16:13), Ancient (16:17) maps and lost on Inferno (11:16).
The winner takes home $400,000 prize money and qualifies for the IEM Cologne 2023. The silver medalist takes $180,000.
The MVP of the tournament became Justin “jks” Savage from G2.
During the tournament, ESL, its organizer, announced the winners of its own award for 2022. Natus Vincere star Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev became the Player of the Year, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov from G2 Esports was awarded the Breakthrough of the Year, and the Team of the Year went to Faze Clan.
Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023 was held on February 1-12 in Poland. The playoffs were hosted at the Spodek Arena (Katowice).
