Ninjas in Pyjamas have signed ex-Astralis CS:GO player Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke to replace Hampus “hampus” Poser.
24-year-old hampus is taking a break from professional Counter-Strike and is being moved to the bench due to health issues.
“Hampus has spent the last few days consulting with our performance director Troels and medical professionals and weâve agreed that he needs a break from Esports competition. We’ve assessed that in order to ensure that he has the time and space needed to get well, hampus will take the rest of the spring season off with our full support,” said the NIP statement.
The organization has found a long-term replacement for hampus in k0nfig, who recently had a successful stand-in showing with Heroic. He will debut with his new squad on February 1 at the IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In.
25-year-old k0nfig was forced to leave Astralis after the Malta incident in October last year but managed to return to the competitive scene at BLAST Premier World Final 2022 with Heroic as a substitute.
In October 2022, during ESL Pro League Season 16 in Malta, k0nfig grappled with a night-club employee and got into a fight. The result was a broken leg for the Danish rifle star.
