The Dota 2 Patch 7.35 should be arriving very soon, so here’s what we expect to see when it drops.
After Team Spirit’s success at The International 12, the Dota 2 community is slowly preparing for the new season. We already know the TI12 champions will miss out on ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, but this will be the first big tournament following TI, so it’ll be worth watching. Speaking of the event, one of the things we expect to see before it is the addition of the Dota 2 Patch 7.35.
Experts do not have any official information as to when to expect it or what it will give access to. Nevertheless, there are specific things the Dota 2 community is interested in, which is why it’s time to learn more about them.

Nerfs to Certain Heroes
It is no surprise one of the things everyone expects to see from the Dota 2 Patch 7.35 is the nerfs of certain heroes. The data from The International 12 revealed some heroes are a little too strong right now, especially in certain setups. Therefore, the 7.35 will most likely nerf some of them.
There are several notable examples here, such as Spirit Breaker. It probably doesn’t come as a surprise he is on the list because this is one of the most annoying characters in the game. He is really good early on, as well as during the mid and late game. What’s even more annoying is that other heroes need to get specific items just to be able to deal with him. This includes options like Eul’s Scepter of Divinity or even Linken’s Sphere.
Another hero who’ill be under the nerf hammer is Treant Protector. Despite the fact he’s not as annoying as Spirit Breaker, at least in the competitive scene, Treant has been ripping through PUB Dota 2 for months. He continues to be one of the most successful heroes and among the best lane supports you can get.
Another name who might receive changes is Chaos Knight. To be honest, CK isn’t that broken when you compare him to the first two options. However, we saw him become one of the most successful Dota 2 heroes at The International 12, meaning he’ll probably get a few tweaks.
Buffs to others
Every big Dota 2 patch brings nerfs, but it also buffs certain heroes who weren’t that popular before. Consequently, the community expects the same to happen with the Dota 2 patch 7.35, which should arrive soon.
One of the heroes who could receive buffs in the upcoming patch is Ember Spirit. Even though the hero was pretty big during TI12 qualifiers, he was nowhere to be found at the tournament itself. Ember only appeared in one match and failed to win, meaning the hero is definitely not in a good state. Considering he has always been one of the most popular Dota 2 heroes in the world, we expect to see some sort of buffs in the Dota 2 Patch 7.35.
The second hero that should receive buffs in the 7.35 Dota 2 patch is Gyrocopter. It has been a while since we’ve seen a Gyrocopter meta, which means the next Dota 2 patch could give us access to it. Like Ember Spirit, Gyro only appeared in a couple of matches at TI12 (6 in total) and lost all of them. Therefore, he needs to receive buffs.
New types of Behaviour Score Changes
Dota 2 players have been urging Valve to take action against toxic players for years, and the company finally listed. If you remember, the summer and early fall were when Dota 2 introduced the changes to the behavior score. Even though players did not expect to see such a positive change, no one can deny the PUB Dota 2 games became more interesting. Consequently, the Dota 2 Patch 7.35 might include even more changes to this department.
It will be very interesting to follow Valve’s decision and see if the company will make even more changes to this department. The MOBA genre is known for having toxic communities, but if Valve manages to find a solution and provide people with a problem-free experience, Dota 2 will become even more popular. This is exactly what the game needs, especially when Valve announced there won’t be a DPC for 2024. Needless to say, this will affect the popularity of the game.
Highground Changes
One of the things we saw at The International 12 is that taking the high ground is easier said than done. While it is true this has always been a problem in Dota 2, the current meta is more complicated than ever regarding this aspect. The team who is trying to push has to be really far ahead in the game to do it comfortably. This has its perks, but there are also negative sides to it because the game is much longer.
Whether Valve is a fan of long games is uncertain, but considering that everything is fast-paced, we wouldn’t be surprised if there are specific high-ground changes that will allow teams to push much faster. This will have an effect on each game’s length.
Remember the things mentioned here about the Dota 2 Patch 7.35 are just expectations. We are probably a couple of days or even weeks away from it dropping, so make sure to follow us if you want to learn the latest news. We’ll provide you with everything you need to know about the new patch once it’s out.
