Former UCAM Tokiers jungler and Iberian Cup 2022 winner Francisco “Thayger” Mazo is set to join Ramboot Club for 2023, sources told BLIX.GG on Tuesday. Thayger would then return to his former club where he and his teammates dominated the Spanish amateur scene.
Thayger offseason didn’t quite go as successful as his 2022 were. Besides having a 6-4 partial with UCAM in Summer after his sudden entrance to the team due to the departure of Nji from the team, as well as winning this year’s Iberian Cup, not many Superliga teams were interested in Thayger for next year. In the beginning, UCAM TOkiers were interested in keeping Thayger for 2023, who also had a contract for next year, but after the entrance of Fintinhas, former White Dragons jungler MarT was the preferred option, as reported here in BLIX.GG.
The other team that were interested in Thayger was recently promoted team Guasones, who initially considered him as their first option. But, after some tryouts, Guasones ended up deciding for former Eintracth Frankfurt jungler Akre as a better fit to the team, as reported here in BLIX.GG.
In the end, Thayger will end up with the team that put him in the spotlight in the first place, Ramboot Club. But, this time, the team would be competing in Superliga 2nd Division, a clear upgrade compared to Liga Nexo and Circuito Tormenta, both Spanish amateur tournaments. As well as competing in Superliga 2nd Division, Ramboot would also partner with renowned football club Valencia CF, which positions Thayger and the team as potential contenders for success next year, and even dreaming of Promotion.
